Public lands are
your lands. By taking action now, you can have a direct
impact on how these lands are managed today and for future
generations. Show our decision-makers the importance of
clean water, free-flowing rivers, wild landscapes, and healthy
ecosystems. You can make a difference.
Here's what you
can do today to help protect your local forest:
Our action alerts keep you informed on when and how to protect
your local forest. Twice a month, you'll be the first to
read about news affecting our nearby public lands, how to submit comments on
Forest Service proposals, and when to attend hearings, upcoming
events and volunteer opportunities. We respect your privacy and
will not sell, trade, or give your email address away.
Our
volunteers can be found doing all sorts of work, like monitoring
forest impacts and field-checking, leading hikes, helping out at special events,
and attending mailing parties. Volunteers
are essential to many of our programs. Click
here for more information on
how to become a volunteer and to see our schedule of events,
including workshops and field trainings scheduled near you.

Visit our Public
Lands Action Center to learn how to contact your local national forest office, get on their
mailing list, and become involved in projects they propose. The one thing that bad politicians and corporations count on
when they try to plunder our forests is that very few people are
watching. The more people who get involved, the harder it
will be for them to destroy these areas.

They are your lands;
get to know them. Land is best protected by those who know
and care for it. Take others out into the national forest. Show them what they are losing and what can still be saved.
