Local Families Come Together for a River Campout During Latino Conservation Week

ForestWatch in collaboration with Padres Juntos Promoviendo La Educación, hosted a family campout in July to celebrate Latino Conservation Week. The campaign is an initiative of Hispanic Access Foundation and was created to support the Latino community getting into the outdoors and participating in activities to protect our natural resources.

Families from the south coast enjoyed time together by the river, saw wildlife and insects up close, participated in a night hike, and learned about the threats to rivers and river conservation. A great time was had by all!

To close out the weekend, the group participated in a river clean-up along the river bank.

Thank you to our community partners, sponsors, volunteers, and friends for their support in making the weekend a success!
