Our Ojai WILD! fundraiser on Sunday, June 2 was a great success! With the support of our sponsors, guests, members, volunteers and community, we welcomed over 325 people and raised over $107,000 to protect our region’s impressive landscapes.
Our incredible sponsors and guests make this event possible. Seasons Catering served up a delicious farm to table meal and wonderful appetizers and Ventura Rental Party & Events provided our stylish tenting. Our event production needs were generously provided by Delicate Productions and DSR Audio. Our auctioneer Suzanne Krainok worked her magic and Todd Hannigan with Sleeping Chief provided the perfect tunes for the day.
A big thanks to Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co., Topa Mountain Winery, Ampelos Cellars and Solminer Wine. We are forever grateful to Carol Gravelle’s remarkable graphic designs and Ashley Lee’s splendid program, as well as photographers Luke Butcher and Stephen Adams. Stay tuned for more photos at ojaiwild.org.
Our inspiring silent auction featured distinctive items from local vendors and businesses. Some featured items were our event image of Lake Casitas by Tim Hauf, exceptional items from Betty Belts and wines from our central coast.
Following dinner was a sensational live auction. Fund-A-Need raised over $21,000 for our land conservation and advocacy programs, and one lucky raffle winner took home more than five dozen bottles of wine to enjoy throughout the year.
We topped off the evening at the stunning Thacher School by presenting John and Kathy Broesamle with the 2019 Wilderness Legacy Award. The Broesamles are some of the most dedicated people we’ve had the pleasure of knowing, and their work protecting wild places in Ventura County is legendary.
Our profound appreciation goes out to our tireless event committee who contribute months of their time and talents to bringingOjai WILD! to life—Terri, Rachael, Alex, Erin, Sue and Sunday—we celebrate you!
And we are sincerely greatful to our team of volunteers for their enthusiasm and efforts and time who contribute to make this day possible. With the energy generated at Ojai WILD!, we are geared up to move forward with even more determination to protect the Los Padres National Forest and the Carrizo Plain National Monument.
