Public Hearing on Los Padres Forest Plan to be Held in Ventura

Third Hearing Called to Discuss Updated USFS Land Management Plan

At the prompting of Ventura County Supervisor Steve Bennett, the US Forest Service has added a third public hearing to present its recently-released updated land management plan and Environmental Impact Statement for the Los Padres National Forest.

Supervisor Bennett says: “I received a number of contacts from people lamenting the need to drive outside the county to participate in the Forest Service workshops and how this would make public participation difficult. I contacted the Los Padres headquarters, and they readily agreed to hold a workshop in Ventura.”

The public hearing will be held Tuesday, April 30th from 5:30 – 6:30pm at the Ventura County Government Center’s Hall of Administration, Third Floor Multipurpose Room, 800 S. Victoria Ave., Ventura.

Help us show the Forest Service that our communities want the strongest level of protection for our region’s pristine roadless areas. Attend the hearing on the 30th, and speak about why you think it’s so important to add to the rich wilderness legacy in the Los Padres National Forest.

Let your voice be heard!
