Invasive Plant Survey: San Rafael Wilderness
Sign-up form to volunteer for our overnight trip into the San Rafael Wilderness to survey for invasive plants. This survey will take place November 11-12.

Want to get out in the San Rafael Wilderness for some hiking, camping, and invasive plant surveying? We have just the volunteer opportunity for you! We are putting together a team of volunteers who want to spend a Saturday and Sunday in November looking for invasive plants along a creek in the Santa Barbara backcountry.

This will be an overnight camping trip with at least 2 - 3 miles of backpacking required. We will also be hiking another 2 - 3 miles while surveying. We will be meeting at a trailhead at 8:30 am on Saturday, and volunteers will be responsible for their own supplies, including gear and food. We will send you more information about the survey location and how to get there. Volunteers can expect to be back at their vehicles by 1 pm on Sunday.

Volunteers do not need prior experience with surveying or invasive plants. We will provide instructions on what to look for and how to use a GPS unit and survey forms.

Space is limited, so please fill out the form below if you are interested in participating. You will receive a follow-up email from ForestWatch with more information about the location and what to bring.
